Understanding Open Graph for Blog

Basically, Facebook (including google+) is a social graph network. Social graph is about people and all relations whose take care by that people. Each day, Facebook go to rising social graph. In 2010, via Open Graph Protocol, Facebook is raising extension social graph. Its means, other sites can use social graph principle under Facebook authority. Now, other sites can make specific social graph pattern. The social graph patter is work based on Actions and Objects.


Let you have a blog with Green World as your blog topic. Let say your blog has labels: Earth Fact, Latest Research, Go Green. Then, let say each label has Actions-Objects pairs as follow:

  1. Earth Fact: Danger (Action) – Earth (Object), Save (Action) – Earth (Object), Love (Action) – Earth (Object)
  2. Latest Research: Informative (Action) – News (Object)
  3. Go Green: Useful (Action) – Tutorial (Object)

One thing you must know, Actions and Objects must write with English. To activate Actions-Objects pairs, your visitors must login to Facebook via your Facebook Application on your blog.

Then, if you see carefully explanation above, you must make a blog with systematic. If you follow our tutorial before on Before Blogger and Integrate Facebook With Blogger, then you will not find any difficult in implementing this tutorial on your blog.

Let say your visitor read one posting with label Earth Fact. After read, your visitor feel fact that your write very danger for earth. Then your visitor will tell this post to his/her friends on Facebook by click Danger. Soon, your visitor activities will publish on Facebook via News Feed, Ticker, and Timeline. Thus, friends of your visitor will know as well. If they are care with Earth Fact, your visitor friends will give their comments or like, even will visit your blog. Next, friends of your visitor friends will know as well. And same process will repeat. This is very good to increase your blog traffic.
